The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has disclosed a massive expansion of the Authority’s operational presence across the country.
Speaking at the Government Accountability Series in Accra, Mr. Kotey said that prior to his assumption of office, the DVLA had only 33 operational offices nationwide.
He announced that within 18 months, his administration has opened 30 new offices, increasing the number of visible DVLA offices from 33 to 63— a nearly 100% increase.
According to the CEO, the new offices comprise 12 fully DVLA-owned offices and 18 Ultra Centres established through a public-private partnership model.
“Our aim is to continue to expand our services and bring them closer to the people,” Mr. Kotey stated.
