No discrimination against any sport, Sports Minister promises to work with every federation nationwide

The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, welcomed the executives of the Sports Medical Association Federation to his office to discuss issues on sports medicine, doping, and nutritional habits on Wednesday 16th April, and 2025.

In his welcome remarks, Mr. Adams indicated the Ministry’s readiness to work with every federation across the country and expressed his conviction to eliminate discrimination against any sport.

He urged the Sports Medical Association to quickly register their Association with the National Sports Authority (NSA) because they are responsible for developing and managing competitive social sports.

“Sports medicine and Nutrition are very important because it has a role to play in the development and improvement of health”, he said.

On her part, Dr. Christian Baah expressed gratitude for the Minister’s assurances and explained how sports Medicine is important in the sports ecosystem.

According to her, the Association is made up of experts in the field of medical doctors and other health workers.

She further congratulated the Sports and Recreation Minister on his new role and wished him well.

Present in the meeting were Dr. Christian Baah, Mavis Adjeley Agoe, John Mawuko Amu, Ishmael Sackey, Asamoah Mensah, Afrifa Daniel, the rest were Renee Opare Otoo, Dr. Eric Tetteh Ayertey, and other officers from the Ministry
