The Majority Caucus of Parliament, led by Mahama Ayariga expressed profound grief and sadness over the tragic helicopter accident that claimed the lives of several distinguished Ghanaians on August 6, 2025, in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.
On behalf of the Caucus, Mr. Ayariga extended deepest condolences to the families, colleagues, and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this devastating incident. The nation mourns the loss of:

Dr. Samuel Sarpong – Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
Samuel Aboagye – Former Parliamentary Candidate
Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala – Pilot
Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu – Co-pilot
Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah – Crew Member
These individuals, both in Parliament and Government, dedicated their lives to serving Ghana. Their untimely demise is a profound loss to our Parliament, government, armed forces, and the entire nation.
