The Food and Agriculture Minister, Eric Opoku, has emphasized the need for innovation and sustainability in Ghana’s agriculture sector.
Speaking at the 41st Farmers’ Day celebration in Ho, Volta Region, Minister Opoku noted that the sector is poised for growth, with the potential to create jobs and ensure food security.

The event, held in conjunction with Ghana’s first National Agricultural Fair, brought together stakeholders to promote dialogue and collaboration. Minister Opoku stressed the importance of adopting new practices and technologies to improve farming efficiency and reduce reliance on imports.
Corporate Ghana has a crucial role to play in supporting smallholder farmers, Minister Opoku said, urging businesses to invest in the sector and provide market access. He also emphasized the need to engage the youth in agriculture, ensuring a sustainable future for the sector.
The National Agricultural Fair showcased Ghana’s agricultural products and innovations, providing a platform for stakeholders to explore opportunities for growth and development. Minister Opoku expressed optimism that the fair would boost Ghana’s agriculture and create jobs.
