The newly appointed 13th Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Prof. Christian Agyare, has paid a courtesy call on the Administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), Mr. Paul Adjei.
The visit aimed to familiarize the new Vice-Chancellor with the fund’s operations and further strengthen the institutional bond between KNUST and GETFund.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Adjei congratulated Prof. Agyare on assuming office. He gave firm assurance that all GETFund-funded projects at the university will be completed strictly as scheduled.
Special emphasis was placed on the ongoing construction of the KNUST Teaching Hospital. Mr. Adjei noted that completing the facility is a key priority aligned with the vision of President H.E. John Dramani Mahama and His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. He reiterated the fund’s absolute readiness to see the project fully operationalized to boost medical training infrastructure.
Prof. Agyare expressed profound gratitude for the warm reception and the reassuring commitments regarding the teaching hospital.
He highlighted that the operationalization of the hospital will significantly scale up student enrollment capacity, positioning KNUST to serve not just Ghana, but as a premier medical teaching hub for the entire West African sub-region.
Prof. Agyare was accompanied by key members of the university’s management team, including Mr. Bernard Owusu Boapong (Registrar), Dr. Charles Nsiah (Financial Officer) and Dr. Mrs. Joyce Amankwah (KNUST Representative, Accra Campus).
