Somé High School (SOSEC) and Klikor High School (KLISTEC) made history on July 30th, 2026, by visiting Parliament simultaneously. The visit aimed to expose students to parliamentary proceedings and foster a deeper understanding of governance as part of their civic education.
Their educational tour included visits to the Parliament House of Ghana, the Black Star Square, and the Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum. This trip provided an enriching opportunity for the students to appreciate the significance of Ghana’s capital city and its historical landmarks.
During the visit, students engaged with constitutional, political, and civic issues, reinforcing their academic studies of Government. They observed parliamentary practices, oversight functions, and the roles of Members of Parliament (MPs). Some MPs addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of academic diligence as a constitutional duty and inspiring them to become responsible citizens capable of addressing societal challenges.
The teachers accompanying the students expressed their gratitude to Parliament for the opportunity to observe proceedings live from the public gallery.
