The Founder and World Leader of Seventh Day Theocratic World Congregation (SDTWC) Apostle Dr. Kadmiel E.H. Agbalenyoh has sounded a world of caution to his congregants, and Ghanaians in general to run away from indiscriminate sexual behaviors as HIV/AIDS reportedly re-ars its ugly head once more into the Ghanaian society.
I Am Devastated And Scared:
He intimated that he was devastated and scared by news items emanating from the Ghana AIDS Commission and the Minister of the Interior of late concerning the reappearance of the disease into the Ghanaian society. According to him, it is against this background that he deems it a binding duty to revisit talking about it, stressing that he had been speaking about it since time immemorial.
He maintained that he was particularly worried about the youth who had become adamant to advice and instead resorted to maintaining their right. Such unbrided right, the Apostle opined, could lead to catastrophic ends. He therefore charged the youth to desist from indiscriminate sexual activities so as to run away from the impending menace.
Apostle Agbalenyoh made this call during a moving sermon in church at Otiakrom (Shalom Shalom) over the weekend. He stated that if about 1300 recruit candidates are purported to been carriers of the deadly HIV, it sounds quite alarming in that this group comprise multiple sex partners, and that can be quite devastating.
Avoid Youthful Lust, Don’t Blame Witches:
Apostle Agbalenyoh took the opportunity to warn the youth in particular against youthful exuberance and lust so as to live longer on earth. He argued that should the youth overlook this and jump into their unguided and unguardered egoes, they do so at their own risk and should not blame witches and wizards.
Loyalty Is The Answer:
Apostle Agbalenyoh also took the opportunity to advise couples against infidelity or cheating on one another since that would also lead to the spread of the impending menace.
Intensional Spread Of The Canker:
The Apostle expressed shock at a situation when some victims intentionally spread the disease on basis of having attracted the disease from unsuspecting relative. In this regard, a victim is wont to spread the disease, even among his/her relatives.
Go For Medical Check Up:
Apostle Agbalenyoh, a professional Medical Doctor, advised to-be-couples, especially virgins to go for medical check-up via screening before venturing into marriage, stressing that the issue is not only scary and alarming, but had also become a national crisis, calling for the attention of all.
Stay Save:
Taking it upon himself as Medical Practitioner and Man-of-God, Apostle Agbalenyoh gave some facts about the disease.
What does NOT spread HIV
You cannot get HIV from: Hugging, shaking hands, mosquito bites, toilet seats, sharing food/drinks, kissing, or being near someone with HIV.
From HIV to AIDS
Not everyone with HIV develops AIDS. With no treatment, it can take 8-10 years for HIV to damage the immune system enough to become AIDS.
With ARVs = antiretroviral drugs, people with HIV can live long, healthy lives and rhay never develop AIDS. ARVs also make the viral load “undetectable”, meaning it’s much harder to transrr
Touching on Prevention, he had this: Use condoms consistently, Test regularly + know your partner’s status, Don’t share needles, PMICT – medicine for pregnant women with HIV to protect the baby, ARVs – for people with HIV to keep them healthy + prevent transmission
