The Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Hon. Kwame Ohene Frimpong, has been detained at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Parliament confirmed the development in a statement signed by Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror.
According to the statement, the Mr. Speaker and the leadership of the House are in contact with Ghana’s Mission in The Hague to obtain full details on the matter.
“The public will be duly informed appropriately on this matter,” the statement added.
No reason for the detention or the MP’s current condition was given at the time of publication.
