The Parliamentary Select Committee on Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs, chaired by Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, received a briefing from the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, and officials of the Ministry on the implementation of the Government’s flagship Feed Ghana Programme and preparations for the ongoing farming season.
Discussions focused on key interventions, including the establishment of Farmer Service Centres, the National School Farm Initiative (NSFI), irrigation expansion, the Mobile Feed Ghana Brigade, backyard poultry and vegetable production, and other measures aimed at strengthening agricultural value chains and enhancing food security.

During the meeting, the Minister commended Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw for his outstanding efforts and unwavering support in advancing the establishment of Farmer Service Centres across the country.

The Chairman, in turn, applauded the Ministry’s progress and urged sustained commitment to the successful implementation of these initiatives to boost agricultural productivity, enhance food security, and create sustainable employment opportunities for the youth.
