The Energy Commission and the Volta River Authority (VRA) have agreed to explore joint media training and capacity-building programmes to strengthen energy sector communications professionals’ skills. The two institutions reached an understanding when the Commission’s Public Affairs Unit hosted the Corporate Communications and Branding Section of the VRA’s Corporate Affairs and External Relations Department on a courtesy call.

The Acting Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission, Adwoa Serwaa Bondzie, received the delegation and engaged them on effective communication with the public, stakeholders and industry players. The two teams exchanged ideas on strategic public communication, stakeholder engagement and how best to communicate the work of the energy sector.

The engagement underscored the need for energy-sector institutions to work together so the public and industry stakeholders receive clear, coordinated, and consistent information. Both institutions agreed to explore further partnership opportunities in the coming months.
