South Tongu MP Maxwell Lukutor has secured a raft of Ghana Education Trust Fund projects worth over GHC87.5 million to upgrade schools and boost economic activity across the constituency.
The interventions target three senior high and technical institutions, plus a new ultra-modern market at Sogakope aimed at driving the 24-hour economy.

Dabala Senior High School
– Dining hall with kitchen – GHC15,750,000.00
– Assembly hall – GHC7,875,000.00
Comboni Technical Vocational Institute
– 2-storey dormitory block – GHC6,689,018.05
– 2-storey 12-unit classroom block – GHC5,245,742.24
St. Catherine Senior High School
– Assembly hall – GHC8,394,270.78
– 2-storey dormitory block – GHC6,973,418.10
– 2-storey 12-unit classroom block – GHC5,043,416.85
Sogakope
– Ultra-modern 24-hour economy market – GHC31,544,620.10
The market project is expected to stimulate commerce, create jobs, and position Sogakope as a key economic hub in the Volta Region.
The school projects are designed to ease infrastructure deficits and improve teaching and learning conditions.
Additional projects — including a boys’ dormitory and assembly hall for Sogakope Senior High School — are yet to be awarded.
The MP deliberately spread the projects across multiple institutions to ensure fairness and avoid claims of bias toward his alma mater.
Discussions are also underway with GETFund on infrastructure needs at Sogakope Technical Institute, with a proposal currently under consideration.
Residents and stakeholders have welcomed the projects, describing them as critical to transforming education and economic activity in South Tongu.
