President John Dramani Mahama has issued a stern warning to Ministers and all political appointees to sit up and deliver or risk being fired.
In a notice to all Ministers and political appointees signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, the President stressed his firm resolve to maintain discipline, accountability and effective leadership across all sectors of government.
According to the notice, the recent ministerial changes and the dissolution of selected boards, together with the impending reshuffle of Chief Executives, reflect the President’s determination to strengthen institutional leadership, enhance coordination and ensure that every appointee remains fully aligned with government’s policies and priorities.
“The President expects all Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Chief Executives, Board members and other political appointees to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, diligence, humility and respect for established administrative procedures,” the statement said.
It added that “Conduct that undermines governmental cohesion, institutional authority or the effective implementation of Government policy will not be tolerated.”
The Presidency reminded all appointees that public office is a privilege and an opportunity to serve the Ghanaian people, stressing that performance across all sectors will continue to be assessed.
“The President will take any further action necessary to safeguard the integrity, effectiveness and responsiveness of his Administration,” the notice warned.
