Stanbic Bank Ghana has committed GHS 3 million to support the Ghana national football team in their campaign toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup, reinforcing confidence in the unifying power of sport and its role in driving national pride.
The donation was presented to the World Cup 2026 Fundraising Committee at a brief presentation ceremony held at the new Ministry of Finance.

Speaking at the event, Kwamina Asomaning, Chief Executive of Stanbic Bank Ghana, said the bank’s support reflects its broader commitment to national development. “ Our support for sports in Ghana is longstanding and intentional. These investments reflect our belief in the transformative power of sports to nurture talent, instil discipline, and build national pride.”

Receiving the contribution on behalf of the Committee, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, Deputy Minister of Finance, expressed appreciation for the gesture.
“We are sincerely grateful to Stanbic for responding to the national call to support our national team.”

Also present at the ceremony were Victor Yeboah-Manu, Chief Finance Officer; Darwin Mireku, Head of Strategy and Enablement; and Derick Romeo Abogla, Head of Communications at Stanbic Bank Ghana.

As the Black Stars prepare for football’s biggest stage, the support is expected to boost morale and strengthen the team’s preparations, while contributing to a broader sense of national unity and shared purpose.
