The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has extended Eid al-Adha greetings to Muslims in Ghana, the diaspora, and worldwide, calling for unity, sacrifice, and national development.
In a statement signed by Minister Ahmed Ibrahim, the Ministry described Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, as a reminder of faith, obedience, humility, and selflessness as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim [AS].
“The occasion calls on us all to uphold the values of sacrifice, compassion, peace, tolerance, and service to humanity,” the statement said.
Citing Surah Al-Hujurat 49:13, the Ministry noted that “the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you,” urging renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and care for the vulnerable.
The Ministry also acknowledged the Muslim community’s contributions to national peace, interfaith harmony, education, local governance, and socio-economic development. It encouraged all citizens to foster understanding, tolerance, and solidarity for Ghana’s progress.
“May Allah accept our prayers, sacrifices, and acts of worship, and continue to bless Ghana with peace, stability, unity, and prosperity,” the statement concluded.
The Ministry wished all Muslims a peaceful and blessed Eid al-Adha celebration.
