Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has taken delivery of approximately 1 million barrels of Bonga Crude Oil as it pushes ahead with its refinery revitalization program.
The cargo, which arrived aboard the MT Cap Felix on May 27, 2026, was purchased from Shell and supplied through TOR’s tolling partner, Fujeirah/Triangle Commodities Trading (TCT). The arrangement forms part of efforts to restore stable refining activities and secure a steady supply of petroleum products for the Ghanaian market.

According to TOR, the low-sulphur Bonga Crude is expected to yield significant volumes of premium products including LPG, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, aviation turbine kerosene [ATK], and fuel oil for both domestic and regional markets.
Management said the delivery marks another milestone in the refinery’s recovery, aimed at improving national energy security and cutting Ghana’s reliance on imported refined fuels.
TOR expressed appreciation to the Government of Ghana, regulators, financial partners, and other stakeholders for their support.

The refinery reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, operational excellence, environmental responsibility, and transforming TOR into a competitive energy hub for Ghana and West Africa.
TOR said it will continue to update stakeholders and the public as refining operations progress.
