The Board Chairman of the Energy Commission, led a delegation from the Commission to Torgbui Sri Palace to participate in the vibrant 2025 Hogbetsotso festival in Anloga. The occasion marked a significant step in strengthening the relationship between the Energy Commission and the local communities in the Volta Region.
During his visit, Profesor John Gatsi assured Torgbui Sri and the Anlo community of the Commission’s unwavering commitment to fairness, transparency, and partnership, particularly concerning local content development. He emphasized that while the Commission remains committed to maintaining high standards, it is actively working to address the challenges faced by industry players without lowering the bar.

“The integrity of our processes remains paramount,” Professor Gatsi stated. “We are taking concrete steps to support industry stakeholders and ensure that local content is promoted effectively for the benefit of all.”
The Board Chairman also highlighted the importance of fostering stronger collaboration with key industry partners, including Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and the Ghana Standards Authority. He noted that the Commission aims to align its operations more closely with the evolving needs of Ghana’s electricity market to ensure sustainable growth and resilience.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing a shared commitment to building a transparent, sustainable, and resilient energy sector that contributes to Ghana’s long-term development goals.

Additionally, Professor Gatsi announced plans to establish regional offices in strategic locations, including a proposed office in Ho, to better address energy-related issues in the Volta and Oti regions. This move is part of the Commission’s broader strategy to decentralize operations and improve service delivery across the country.
The visit to Torgbui Sri Palace and participation in the Hogbetsots festival underscored the Energy Commission’s dedication to community engagement and its vision for an inclusive and sustainable energy future for Ghana.
