Party chairman says projects, not force, will sustain gains in Upper West and Bono; speaks during ‘Thank You Tour’
National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has declared the party’s intention to retain the Sissala East and West parliamentary seats “forever,” saying development projects will secure the constituencies rather than coercion.
Speaking during the party’s ‘Thank You Tour’ of the Upper West Region, Asiedu Nketiah tied the Sissala constituencies to the legacy of President Hilla Limann, noting: “Now that we have captured both the Sissala East and West constituencies of President Hilla Limann, we intend to maintain the two seats forever.”

He drew a parallel with the party’s strategy in the Bono Region, stating it was the same approach being used to hold “Prof. Busia seats from NPP.”
The NDC chairman emphasized that the retention strategy would be development-led. “NDC won’t use coercion to achieve this, rather our developmental projects will help,” he told supporters.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as #JAN, framed the approach as part of what he called “Futuristic Leadership,” linking electoral consolidation to tangible delivery in the constituencies.

The Sissala East and West seats, located in the Upper West Region, are historically significant as the home area of Dr. Hilla Limann, President of Ghana’s Third Republic.
The reference to “Prof. Busia seats” points to parts of Bono, home region of former Prime Minister Prof. K.A. Busia, where the NDC has made recent inroads against the NPP.
The ‘Thank You Tour’ is the NDC’s post-election engagement with constituents across the country.
