The Governing Board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) paid a courtesy call on Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings to congratulate and celebrate her election as Second Vice President of the Pan-African Parliament.
The Pan-African Parliament, an organ of the African Union, serves as a platform for promoting integration, cooperation and democratic governance among member states across the continent.
A delegation drawn from the Governing Board of the NHIA and led by Board Chairman, Larry Adjetey Esq, visited the Member of Parliament on Wednesday, May 14, 2026, to celebrate what they described as a proud milestone for Ghana and the Authority.

The team took time out of their busy schedules to personally share in the milestone of their colleague board member.
Members of the delegation included Dr Victor Asare Bampoe, who also serves as Chief Executive of the NHIA and Board Member; Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu, Hon. Mohammed Ramadan, Dr. Sadat Bawa, Prof. Ernest Yorke, Dr. Abiba Zakariah, Dr. David Tetteh, Ms. Francisca Atuluk and Dr Ken Tweneboah Koduah.

A Citation of Honour was also presented to Dr Agyeman-Rawlings, who is also the Member of Parliament for the Klottey Korle Constituency in Accra, on behalf of the Governing Board and Management of the NHIA.
The citation, which read in part, described her election as a “remarkable achievement” that reflects her “distinguished leadership, dedication to public service and strong commitment to the advancement of Ghana and the African continent.”
The citation further noted that her accomplishment “brings immense pride to the nation and serves as an inspiration to many across Africa, particularly young women in leadership,” adding that, as a valued member of the NHIA Governing Board, the Authority celebrated the honour as well- deserved.
Board ChairThe NHIA Board Chairman, Mr. Adjetey Esq, paid glowing tribute to the legislator, describing the delegation’s presence as a reflection of their collective admiration for her achievement.
“Every board member here is a busy person, but all made time to be here because of the recognition of the values of the names you bear and the way you have carried them forward so well.
“We wish you God’s support and strength to carry on in a manner expected of you, both locally and internationally. We, the Board of the NHIA and the NHIA as an institution, are so proud of you and share your in milestone. We are very proud of you,” Mr. Adjetey added.
Dr Agyeman-Rawlings

A visibly moved Dr Agyeman-Rawlings expressed deep gratitude to the Board for the show of solidarity, describing the gesture as one of profound personal significance.
“Thank you for coming. I really appreciate this gesture because it makes me feel I belong, especially when the absence of my mum and dad makes it difficult to find enough people to talk to in moments like this. I am really overwhelmed by the love you have shown, and I am so grateful to you. This means so much to me,” she said.
Reflecting on the circumstances of her election, she attributed the victory to divine intervention, noting that the opportunity and outcome had been entirely unexpected.
“I am grateful to God and all who made it happen. I am grateful to God for the resounding victory with convincing votes,” she said.

She acknowledged the weight of the responsibility that came with the new position, saying: “It is a huge task I did not see coming, but I am equally ready to serve and learn.”
Dr Agyeman-Rawlings also assured her colleagues and constituents of her commitment to representing Ghana’s interests at the continental level.
“I am always ready to serve and learn. My voice is your voice on the Pan-African front,” she pledged.
