GOIL has reduced pump prices at all stations nationwide from 6AM Thursday, April 16, even as Middle East tensions keep global crude oil prices high.
Per the company’s latest notice, the new prices are:
Product New Price Change
Super XP GH¢13.27 ↓
Diesel XP GH¢16.10 ↓
Super XP 95 GH¢15.77
The cut follows government’s removal of selected margins in the petroleum price build-up to ease pressure on consumers.
The National Petroleum Authority has since set a revised price floor for the second pricing window of April.
GOIL says its adjustment matches that NPA floor to “bring relief to consumers.”
Crude benchmarks have risen in recent weeks as Middle East tensions rattle supply outlooks.
That normally forces pump prices up in Ghana, which imports refined products.
But the state’s decision to scrap certain regulatory and distribution levies has created room for OMCs to hold or cut prices short term.
GOIL, the market leader by retail network, is first to publicly announce reductions on Super XP and Diesel XP — the two most consumed grades.
Impact
Transport operators and businesses relying on diesel get direct relief.
Super XP 95 users see no change.
Whether the relief lasts will hinge on crude trends, cedi performance, and how long the removed margins stay off the pricing formula.
The company framed the move under its “Offering relief; Delivering quality and value” tagline.
