The Energy Commission Board has conducted a strategic working visit to two solar power stations, BXC Company Limited and Meinergy Technology Limited, both located in Gomoa Onyadze.

The visit aimed to strengthen oversight of the country’s renewable energy sector and deepen engagement with key industry players. Officials from both facilities guided the Board through their plants, showcasing the technologies in use and their respective contributions to the national energy mix.
The visit went beyond a routine inspection, serving as a forum for candid discussions on regulatory compliance and industry challenges.
The Board engaged management of both companies to identify bottlenecks in the current regulatory framework that could hinder operational efficiency and growth, and to explore practical solutions to improve the overall ease of doing business in the renewable energy space.

The Board Chairman, Prof. John Gartchie Gatsi, used the occasion to urge both companies to take concrete steps toward meeting local content provisions, underscoring that greater local participation is vital to building sector capacity, creating jobs, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
Management of BXC and Meinergy welcomed the engagement as timely and expressed their commitment to working closely with the Commission to address regulatory concerns and advance Ghana’s renewable energy agenda.
