Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, together with Volta Regional Minister James Gunu, has inspected a newly installed clinic in Dzodze Dzesime Market, Ketu North Municipality.

The facility forms part of the Ministry of Health’s Free Primary Healthcare Programme, designed to bring basic health services closer to communities and reduce barriers to care.

During the visit, the ministers assessed the clinic’s readiness and discussed its expected impact on traders, market users, and residents across the Volta Region and Ghana.

Addressing market women and traders at Dzodze Dzesime, the Health Minister said the market clinic model will increase access to free basic treatment, health screening, and preventive care for Ghanaians in high-traffic areas.

He urged traders to prioritize their health by checking blood pressure, sugar levels, and making use of the facility, which is provided at no cost.

The Regional Minister reiterated government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the people, while the Municipal Chief Executive for Ketu North, Rev. Martin Amenaki, applauded the government and the Health Ministry for bringing critical health services closer to the people.

The Minister was accompanied by the MP for Agotime Ziope, Charles Agbeve, the Deputy CEO, NHIA in charge of Operations, Dr. Kwesi Djokoto, and spokespersons for Health Ministry Tony Goodman.
